1. Start with the bud:
Draw a small circle or oval in the center of your paper.
2. Add some petals:
Around the circle, draw a few larger, wavy ovals or heart shapes overlapping slightly. These are your petals. Don't worry about making them perfect, as roses have naturally uneven petals.
You can start with just 3-4 petals for a simple rose, or add more for a fuller bloom.
3. Draw the stem and leaves:
From the base of the bud, draw a straight line down for the stem.
Add a few curved lines branching off the stem for leaves. You can keep them simple or add details like veins with small lines.
4. Refine and color (optional):
Once you're happy with the basic shapes, you can go over your drawing with a darker pencil or pen to make the lines stand out.
Erase any stray lines and color your rose and leaves with your favorite colors!
