Sending a Direct Message (DM) on Twitter allows you to have private conversations with other Twitter users. Here's how you can send a DM on Twitter:

### Using Twitter Web:

1. **Log in to Twitter**: Go to twitter.com and log in to your Twitter account using your username and password.

2. **Navigate to Messages**: Click on the envelope icon located at the top right corner of the Twitter page. This will take you to your Direct Messages inbox.

3. **Start a New Conversation**: In the Direct Messages inbox, click on the "New Message" button.

4. **Select Recipient**: Type the username of the person you want to message in the "To" field. As you type, Twitter will suggest usernames based on your contacts and recent interactions. Click on the correct username when it appears in the dropdown menu.

5. **Compose Message**: Once you've selected the recipient, a message box will appear. Type your message in the box and then click on the "Send" button to send your DM.

### Using Twitter Mobile App:

1. **Open Twitter App**: Launch the Twitter app on your mobile device.

2. **Navigate to Messages**: Tap on the envelope icon at the top right corner of the screen to access your Direct Messages.

3. **Start a New Conversation**: Tap on the "New Message" icon (usually a pencil or paper and pen icon) to start a new conversation.

4. **Select Recipient**: Type the username of the person you want to message in the "To" field. You can also search for the person by tapping on the search bar and typing their name. Once you find the correct user, tap on their name to select them.

5. **Compose Message**: After selecting the recipient, a message box will appear at the bottom of the screen. Type your message in the box.

6. **Send Message**: Tap on the "Send" button (usually a paper airplane icon) to send your DM.

### Additional Tips:

- You can also send a DM directly from someone's profile. Simply go to their profile and click on the envelope icon next to the "Follow" button to start a new message.

- Remember that you can only send DMs to users who follow you back. If someone doesn't follow you, you won't be able to send them a DM unless they have their settings configured to receive messages from anyone.

That's it! You've successfully sent a DM on Twitter.
