To move columns in Excel, follow these steps:

1. **Select the Column(s)**: Click on the column header(s) you want to move. If you want to move multiple columns, hold down the Ctrl key (Cmd key on Mac) while clicking on each column header.

2. **Drag the Selected Column(s)**: Position the cursor over the edge of the selected column(s) until you see a four-sided arrow cursor. Click and hold the left mouse button, then drag the column(s) to the desired location. You'll see a vertical insertion line indicating where the columns will be moved to.

3. **Release the Mouse Button**: Once the columns are in the desired position, release the mouse button. The selected columns will be moved to the new location, and the other columns will shift accordingly to accommodate the move.

Alternatively, you can also use the "Cut" and "Insert Cut Cells" commands to move columns:

1. **Cut the Column(s)**: Select the column(s) you want to move, then right-click on the selection and choose "Cut" from the context menu. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+X (Cmd+X on Mac) to cut the selection.

2. **Insert Cut Cells**: Right-click on the column header where you want to move the cut column(s) and choose "Insert Cut Cells" from the context menu. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl++ (Cmd++ on Mac) to insert the cut cells.
