On the Facebook Mobile App:

  1. Open the Facebook app and tap your profile picture (bottom right corner) to go to your profile.
  2. Find the post you want to delete by scrolling through your profile feed.
  3. Tap the three dots (...) in the top right corner of that specific post.
  4. Select "Move to trash" from the menu.
  5. Confirm deletion by tapping "Move" in the pop-up message.

On Facebook Desktop:

  1. Go to facebook.com and log in to your account.
  2. Click your name at the top to navigate to your profile.
  3. Locate the post you want to delete on your timeline.
  4. Hover your mouse over the three dots (...) in the top right corner of the post.
  5. Choose "Move to trash" from the menu.
  6. Click "Move" in the confirmation pop-up window to permanently delete.

Important Reminders:

  • Deleted posts go to a trash folder for 30 days before permanent removal.
  • You can restore a post within 30 days from your "Activity Log" (mobile app only).
  • Deleting only removes the post from your profile. If you shared it elsewhere, it might still be visible there. You'd need to contact the admin or the person who shared it for removal.
