Here's how to do it on both the mobile app and desktop version:

Using the Facebook Mobile App:

  1. Open the Facebook app and navigate to your profile by tapping your profile picture in the bottom right corner.
  2. Find the post you want to delete by scrolling through your profile feed.
  3. Tap the three dots (...) in the top right corner of the specific post.
  4. A menu will appear. Select "Move to trash".
  5. A confirmation message will pop up. Tap "Move" to confirm deletion.

Using Facebook on Desktop:

  1. Go to https://www.facebook.com/pages and log in to your account.
  2. Click on your name at the top of the page to navigate to your profile.
  3. Locate the post you want to delete on your profile timeline.
  4. Hover your mouse over the three dots (...) in the top right corner of the post.
  5. From the menu, select "Move to trash".
  6. Click "Move" in the confirmation pop-up window to permanently delete the post.

Important Notes:

  • In both methods, deleted posts are placed in the trash for 30 days before being permanently removed.
  • If you want to recover a post you've deleted within that timeframe, you can access your "Activity Log" (mobile app only) and restore it from the trash.
  • Deleting a post only removes it from your profile. If you've shared the post in a group or on someone else's timeline, it might still be visible there. You'd need to contact the group admin or the person who shared it to request its removal.
