To alphabetize data in Google Sheets, you can follow these steps:
1. Select the column or range of cells that you want to alphabetize.
2. Click on the "Data" menu in the top toolbar.
3. Hover over "Sort range" in the dropdown menu.
4. In the submenu that appears, you'll have several options:
- "A-Z" sorts the selected range in ascending order (alphabetically).
- "Z-A" sorts the selected range in descending order (reverse alphabetical).
- "Sort sheet by column" allows you to sort the entire sheet by a specific column.
5. Choose the option that fits your needs. If you want to alphabetize the data in ascending order, select "A-Z." If you want to alphabetize it in descending order, select "Z-A."
6. Google Sheets will automatically rearrange the data in the selected column(s) accordingly.
Keep in mind that if your selected range contains headers, Google Sheets will not sort the headers as data. It will keep them in place at the top of the column. If you want to include the headers in the sorting process, be sure to select the entire range including the headers before sorting.
