To figure out how old your cat is in human years, we can use a general rule of thumb. It's not perfectly accurate, but it gives you a good idea!

Here's how it works:

  • First year: This is like a whirlwind growth period for kittens. One year for your cat is equivalent to about 15 human years.
  • Second year: This is another big year of growth. Add another 9 human years to your cat's age.
  • After two years: For each year after that, add 4 human years to your cat's age.

For example, if your cat is 3 years old, you would calculate their age like this:

  • 15 years (for the first year)
    • 9 years (for the second year)
    • 4 years (for the third year)
  • = 28 human years

So, according to this method, a 3-year-old cat is roughly equivalent to a 28-year-old human
