What you'll need:

  • A soft measuring tape (ideally not made of metal)

Steps:

  1. Measure your band size:

    • Stand upright with your arms relaxed at your sides.
    • Wrap the measuring tape around your torso directly under your breasts. The tape should be snug but comfortable, allowing enough space to slip a finger or two underneath.
    • Round the measurement to the nearest whole number. If the number is even, add 4 inches.
    • This measurement corresponds to your band size (e.g., 32, 34, 36, etc.).
  2. Measure your bust size:

    • Keep the measuring tape level and wrap it around the fullest part of your breasts. Make sure the tape goes across your back and meets the band measurement in the front.
    • Take the bust measurement and subtract your band size from it.
    • The difference between your bust measurement and band size determines your cup size according to the following chart:
Difference (inches) Cup Size
1 inch A
2 inches B
3 inches C
4 inches D
5 inches DD or E (cup sizes may vary depending on brand)
More than 5 inches Consider going up in band size and checking cup size again

Example:

  • Let's say your band measurement is 34 inches and your bust measurement is 38 inches.
  • Difference = 38 inches (bust) - 34 inches (band) = 4 inches.
  • According to the chart, your cup size would be D.
  • So, your bra size would be 34D.
